Cattle Decapitation - US Headlining Tour Dates

Cattle Decapitation are pleased to announce "The California Blood Tour".

Featuring bands mostly hailing from California, the tour will be headlined by Cattle Decapitation and sees Devourment (TX) rearing its ugly head plus searing acts such as Knights Of The Abyss, fellow San Diegans Burning The Masses and newcomers Son Of Aurelius. Select dates also feature Sacramento's Slaughterbox and San Diego's own purveyors of brutality, Condemned.

This will be Cattle Decapitation's final US tour for the Harvest Floor record, as the band will commence the writing of their 5th Metal Blade release at the end of the year.

Cattle Decapitation vocalist Travis Ryan had this to say about the tour: "We've had this idea for a tour that was mostly comprised of California bands for quite a while now. I don't know, there was just something about the term "California love" (popularized by 2Pac Shakur) that never quite sat right with us so we came up with something a little more fitting, considering the level of brutality that California has always had under its belt. From the seedy sewers in the big cities to the "Cowshwitz" communities of central CA to the inhospitable depravity of the dry desert, we decided it was time to show the rest of the US that CaliGOREnia is not just about hippies, silicone bodies and marijuana dispensaries (not that there's anything wrong with that, haha!)... This is California Blood!"

Cattle Decapitation - New Album Details Revealed

US extreme metallers Cattle Decapitation have issued the following details about their new album:

"We're finnaly done with all the finishing touches of our new album and we feel we've finally done it! Sonically, the band has managed to finally capture and accentuate its live intensity that we've become known for and has created one hell of an album from start to epic finish! Conceptually, its misanthropy shall go unmatched. This is it, humans... ferocity at its finest.

The album is called "The Harvest Floor", a title Travis has been kicking around in his head and working towards for the last 2 albums and will arrive as an enhanced CD and there will also be a picture disc LP version that comes with a giant poster! The actual title refers to the area of a slaughterhouse where the animal (of course in our case it always means the human) begins the agonizing process of death, usually done with a bolt to the forehead or a slice to the throat. "The Harvest Floor" is a fitting title for an album laden in gore and the anti-human metaphors and sentiments Cattle Decapitation fans have grown to know and love.

Artwork by Wes Benscoter shows the outside of a large slaughterhouse/factory of doom and gloom with the general public being herded inside to meet their demise. The inside of the album layout reveals what's really inside that slaughterhouse: our misanthropic heroes of GORE (not core) at another hard day of work! Combined with the amazing artwork and conceptually brutal layout, the CD version of The Harvest Floor also contains an enhanced portion which sports an I-pod ready documentary titled "Pandemic: The Damnation Epic - The Making of "The Harvest Floor" which, simply put, makes "The Harvest Floor" an apocalyptic multimedia epic!

Track Listing:

01. The Gardeners of Eden
02. A Body Farm
03. We are Horrible People
04. Tooth Enamel & Concrete
05. The Ripe Beneath the Rind
06. The Product Alive
07. In Axetasy
08. Into the Public Bath
09. The Harvest Floor
10. Regret & the Grave

No strangers to guest appearances, Cattle Decapitation have enlisted some old friends for guest vocals including Ross Sewage (Impaled/Ludicra) and Dino Sommese (Dystopia/Asunder). The band is also very pleased to announce there is a special appearance by Jarboe (Swans), lending her beautifully haunting voice to the epic death dirge "The Harvest Floor". Jackie Perez Gratz (Grayceon/Amber Asylum) graces a couple tracks with her electric cello and Los Angeles noisician John Wiese also lends his electronic/atmospheric expertise to the album further separating the band from the typical "cookie-cutter" approach applied all too often by today's extreme acts.

Cattle Decapitation - Enter The Studio

As posted on the band's official website:

"We enter Castle Ultimate Studios in Oakland, CA tomorrow to start working on our fourth Metal Blade full length! We'll be doing the drums with the mighty Zach Ohren (All Shall Perish, Decrepit Birth) and then over to Sharkbite studios to record the rest and mix with our man Billy Anderson. This is going to be devastating, we promise. The new material is over the top. The lyrics, as hateful as "Karma.Bloody.Karma" but much more disgusting this time around.

We'll be announcing the name of the album, song titles and cover art when we have completed the recording! Details on that, studio reports and fly on the wall footage in the studio coming soon!"

Cattle Decapitation - Start Working On New Album

Metal Blade's gore-grinders Cattle Decapitation will now commence writing their next album due in late August 2008. This will be the first recording with new drummer David Mcgraw (ex-Sleep Terror) who joined Cattle Decapitation in Fall of 2007. The studio effort will be produced by Billy Anderson (Melvins), with drums to be engineered by Zach Ohren (Animosity). Meanwhile, artwork will once again be provided by Wes Benscoter (Slayer).

"We're taking a short break from writing our next album to come out and adorn California in Gore!!! A couple notable shows are gonna be our first show in Years at the old Covered Wagon building, now called Annie's Social Club in San Francisco with our buddy Pete Ponitkoff's(singer of Benumb) band Agenda of Swine, our long awaited return to the Boardwalk in Orangevale - we regrettably missed the last show due to Travis being temporarily hospitalized for a panic attack - We Will Make It This Time!, and the big show at the Knitting Factory in Hollywood, CA with friends Phobia, Skarp, The Funeral Pyre, Watch Me Burn & many more!!!

We'd also like to announce that we'll be returning to the studio in August with Billy Anderson once again at the helm! We'll also be incorporating the abilities of Zach Ohren for the recording of the drums! The album's title is being withheld until we decide to warn the public, but so far here are a few choice song titles of which we'll be playing at all the shows this week "Tooth Enamel & Concrete", "Regret & the Grave", "We Are Horrible People" & "The Body Farm".

Once again Wes Benscoter will be handling the art and we've already done a truly disturbing photo shoot that yielded a bounty of gore and the brutality of human existence for use in the layout which will be done by our graphic guru, Cain!"
